First Day on the Job

Well, yesterday was my first full day of work off training. I was really nervous, but I guess things worked out okay. I spent the night working at Tower of Terror, so that was what had me the most worried, since most of my training was spent at Rockin Roller Coaster.

The worst thing that happened was I got lost on my way to the break room. We'd had a tour of it my very first day of training, but I hadn't really remembered how to get there. Which was a bad thing, since there are certain doors you DO NOT want to open when you are backstage at Tower. They lead into the ride shaft, etc. so they can shut down the entire ride when it is opened. Anyway, long story short, I had to ask about two people how to get to the break room. But I know now, so it's all good.

The only other interesting thing that happened was that we had 8th grad Grad Nite from 9:00-1:00. That's AM. So we had almost 2000 screaming teenagers pass through our echoing store during those hours. I think my ears will stop ringing sometime in the next week...

Other than that, it was a pretty uneventful night. I did get to spend some time on Edit, which is where we preview all the pictures from the ride. We have to moderate any where people are flipping the camera off, or flashing, or something like that. I can't tell you in the 30 minutes I was doing it how many I had to moderate because a bunch of silly teenagers thought it would be funny if they gave the camera the finger. I wonder what their reaction was when their picture didn't show up on the screens at the end?

Well, now I'm working Fantasmic for pretty much the next week. So I get to sell glow things all night! But I'm only on for 5 hours, so that's a good thing too. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so that will be interesting, since they don't cancel the show until the last minute. Which means we'll be in the rain, trying to sell glowing Mickey ears. Unless there's lighting. Then we get to stay in. Guess we'll see what happens tomorrow!

You are selling glowing Mickey ears & I'm the only person to make a comment on that? Now I know why so many BYU students intern with Disney. You all think you are adding something great on your resume but God is trying to tell you something....STAY IN SCHOOL or you get to do this for the rest of your life.....
